1969 H.H. Sheikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the Emir of Bahrain, is received by the French Prime Minister, Jacques Chaban-Delmas, in Paris.

1975 Paribas opens a branch in Manama (Bahrain); the inauguration is attended by Paribas Chief Executive Officer, Pierre Moussa, who also paid a visit to H.H. Sheikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the Emir of Bahrain, and H.R.H. Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the Prime Minister.

Banque Nationale de Paris (BNP) receives an offshore banking license just a few days after the application was submitted, and gained authorisation on 25 November 1975.

1976 H.H. Sheikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa, Emir of the of Bahrain, makes an official visit to France.

Banque Nationale de Paris (BNP) opens a branch in Manama (Bahrain).

1978 Paribas opens an offshore banking wholesale unit in Bahrain. Jacques de Fouchier and Pierre Moussa meet with the Emir of Bahrain and regulators.

1981 Banca Nazionale del Lavoro opens a representative office in Bahrain.

1990 Banque Nationale de Paris (BNP) opens a representative office in Bahrain, alongside the offshore banking unit.

2000 Banque Nationale de Paris (BNP) and Banque de Paris et des Pays-Bas (Paribas) merge to form BNP Paribas.

Branch of Disbank (later Fortis Bank) opens in Bahrain.

2001 BNP Paribas sets up a regional hub in Bahrain.

2003 Türk Ekonomi Bankası (TEB) which became a joint venture with BNP Paribas in 2005 opens a branch in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

2004 H.R.H. Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain, visits BNP Paribas headquarters in Paris.

2005 H.R.H. Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince of the Kingdom of Bahrain, visits BNP Paribas headquarters and meets Baudouin Prot, Chief Executive Officer of BNP Paribas.

2008 BNP Paribas Bahrain is granted a license to establish a fund management firm by the Central Bank of Bahrain.

Jacques d Estais, Head of Investment Solutions visits the Kingdom of Bahrain and meets with senior government officials and regulators.

Regional head office moves to Bahrain Financial Harbour.

2009 Jean Lemierre, Advisor to the Chairman, BNP Paribas, visits Kingdom of Bahrain and meets with senior government officials and regulators.

Alain Papiasse, BNP Paribas Head of Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB), visits Kingdom of Bahrain and meets with senior government officials and clients. He also attends the 9th Territory Meeting.
