Bahraini Crown Prince at BNP Paribas Head Office

During an official visit to France in June 2005, the Crown Prince, H.R.H. Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and his delegation visited the BNP Paribas headquarters in Paris. The Crown Prince met Baudouin Prot, Chief Executive Officer of BNP Paribas Group, and several members of the Bank s senior management. This visit was an important event which served to enhance the Bank s reputation in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The Crown Prince applauded BNP Paribas work in the Kingdom, especially that of the specialised banking teams, and welcomed the Bank s decision to place its regional hub there. Baudouin Prot reiterated the importance of the Bahrain regional hub as a cornerstone of development in the Gulf and expressed his gratitude to the Crown Prince for the trust the Kingdom of Bahrain had placed in BNP Paribas, as witnessed by the numerous mandates awarded to the Bank.

Michel Pébereau and Baudouin Prot meet Kuwaiti Prime Minister in Paris

In September 2005, Kuwait Prime Minister, H.H. Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammed Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, travelled to Paris as the head of a large Kuwaiti delegation comprising several ministers and prominent business figures. During the visit, he was welcomed at BNP Paribas headquarters by Chairman Michel Pébereau and Chief Executive Baudouin Prot.

Baudouin Prot inaugurates new Riyadh branch

The official inauguration of BNP Paribas Riyadh took place on 23 October 2005. BNP Paribas Chief Executive Officer Baudouin Prot attended the ceremony alongside, Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency (SAMA) Governor H.E. Mr Hamad Al-Sayari, and SAMA Vice-Governor H.E. Dr. Al-Mohamed Al-Jasser, the French ambassador, representatives of the media and client companies of the Bank, as well as all the Bank staff. During his visit, Prot stressed the importance of BNP Paribas presence in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Michel Pébereau visits the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Qatar

In March 2006, BNP Paribas Chairman, Michel Pébereau was a member of the delegation that accompanied French President, Jacques Chirac on an official state visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Pébereau met the Bank s major clients and prospects. He also visited the Riyadh branch, where he made a speech and met the branch s staff.

On 3 and 4 April 2006, Pébereau visited Kuwait and officially opened the Bank s new premises, unveiling a commemoration plaque to mark the first anniversary of operations. At the ceremony he stressed that, BNP Paribas is proud to be the first foreign bank licensed and registered with the Central Bank of Kuwait.
